Quick Update...

We took Emma to her normal pediatricians office today. They didn't want to wait until Monday. They did their own evaluation and determined that she needed to be seen by the Neurology clinic at Children's. They are supposed to call us early next week to set up the appointment. The pediatrician said that they will probably order an MRI to see her brain better... I don't know if that is good or bad. Could there be something that they didn't see on the CT scan? Is it great that we will be able to conclusively rule out any brain mass/bleed/seizures? The pediatrician told me today that they sent us to Children's yesterday because they thought she had had a stroke... I am SO glad they didn't tell me that yesterday! It is pretty unlikely since today she has "episodes" where she is totally fine and then other times she is almost unable to say a single word.

We keep everyone updated when we have more to tell. We looked at some research today that indicates there is a large number of children who develop a "temporary" stutter at this age. It that is what it is, it should clear up on its own in a few months. If it is a "real" stutter then she will get speech therapy after she is 3. They said they don't usually do it before then since there is a possibility they will grow out of it before then.

We are doing better today in some aspects. Emma is have a really hard day, she is really frustrated by not being able to talk and acting out when she is having an "episode". She has cried a lot today which is really out of character for her. We could still use those positive thoughts and prayers.
