The "theater" set up in the park across the street! In the building behind the screen is a snack bar!
On Saturday, we met up with Kaly and Branden at the Adams County Fair! Emma doesn't remember the other fairs we have taken her to, so she loved it! Branden's family is in 4-H and raises steer and pigs, so Emma got to go into the barns and pet the animals and she even fed a goat! We watched a "Doc Dogs" contest (basically agility dog contests in water) for a while. It was pretty neat! As we were leaving a dog jumped from the end of the dock 28 FEET to fetch his buoy. WOW! That is a long way! Emma rode some rides with Kaly and Branden. It was HILARIOUS to see Branden cram himself into this tiny airplane to ride with Emma. Branden's knees were wedged in there so tight, he had trouble getting out!
Then on Sunday, we met up with the rest of the family at Mom and Dad's house and hung out for a while. After the thunderstorm passed we headed out the Boulder County Fair. It was a lot smaller fair but still had good food and rides for everyone. At first, the ride operators wouldn't let Emma ride because she is smaller than the minimum 36 inches for the kiddy rides but we eventually got her on some. She LOVES rides! She is never afraid and always thinks it is so fun. After riding a couple little rides by herself, Branden took her on a ride, like the tea cups at Disneyland. Each "car" turns on its own and you can spin the "car" yourself with a wheel on the inside. I thought for sure she was going to throw up but she came out smiling and saying it was fun. Then Craig took her on a little roller coaster! I don't think she liked the drops very much but overall she loved it. Beth, Nick and Branden rode this pendulum type ride that practically goes upside down... I have never seen Beth look so scared! She did NOT like it! They guys ended the night by riding the ride that we know as the Kamakazee (it was called something else here) from the Butte County fair. Basically it is boat shaped things that go back and forth until eventually they go completely around and upside down. Not my idea of fun, but they liked it. A good way to end the night!

On the little roller coaster with Daddy!
